Holiday Gnome Class

In this 3 hour workshop students will learn how to knit their own small gnome, perfect to use as a hanging decoration, or to just add a little cheer and whimsy to a desk or shelf at home. This class is a good introduction into the joy of toy making.

The pattern is included in the cost of the class.

Students should know how to knit and purl and be familiar with knitting in the round prior to the class.

Sunday 15 December 2024, 10:30am-1:30pm

Materials required (all materials can be purchased at Woolarium or brought to the class from home):

  • 3 balls of 50g or less of 8ply (DK weight) or 10ply (worsted weight) yarn in three contrasting colours (one ball of each colour). Leftover yarns you might have at home will work well. We will need around 15g or less of each colour if you’d like to check the weight of your yarn scraps on a kitchen scale.
  • 1 set of 3.25mm (for 8ply yarn) or 3.75mm (for 10ply yarn) double pointed needles.

Our teacher, Amy Wilson, has been knitting for the majority of her life and teaching adults and children for the last 6 years. She is very passionate about the life lessons that can be learned from this craft and the enrichment it brings to one’s life.
